From a young age, I won various art competitions and prepared for art school entrance exams, but I wanted to become not only an artist but also a doctor who heals people.
Inspired by Kliner's words that define the characteristics of plastic surgery, I decided to become a plastic surgeon who encompasses both art and medicine, and entered Sungkyunkwan University School of Medicine.
Since my time at Samsung Seoul Hospital,
I have intensively learned various plastic and reconstructive surgeries.
At the Department of Plastic Surgery, Samsung Seoul Hospital, I performed various surgeries including breast reconstruction and augmentation, abdominal contouring, and female genital reconstruction surgery.
During that time, I published several papers on flap surgery and microsurgery, and received the Outstanding Paper Award from the Korean Society for Microsurgery for one of these papers.
I was able to accumulate extensive expertise through training at MD Anderson Cancer Center in the United States, renowned for post-cancer breast reconstruction, and at Chang Gung Memorial Hospital in Taiwan, globally recognized for plastic surgery.
Through numerous surgeries at various large plastic surgery clinics,
I have done my best to achieve better results.
At several renowned plastic surgery hospitals in Gangnam and Busan, I have performed a considerable number of various plastic surgeries and skin lifting laser treatments for the breast, face, abdomen, weight loss, and female perineum.
Dr. Ko Joo Young, who has strived to minimize side effects and complications while achieving better aesthetic results, has published improved surgical methods for breast, nipple-areola, and abdomen in various prestigious journals, and contributes to the academic development of plastic surgery through various academic activities at domestic and international plastic surgery and academic conferences.
